Session I - "You Don't Have to Roll for A Boner"

About Centervale:
– The Lazy Flow river divides two sections of the town
– To the East is the City Center/ Town Square
– Dusty round town center. In the middle is a large tree with rust colored leaves
– Under the shade of the trees branches is a golden statue of a long dead king
– Lining the Town Center/square are several shops. The two large ones:
– “House of Pain” Inn/Tavern
– Sign with a long-haired naked lady

After the battle with the goblins, adventurers enter the House of Pain tavern. Against the far wall is a bar with a large painting above it depicting a macho man in a pink boa. To the left are stairs leading up. To the right is a large door with small metal placards placed into it. The tavern is empty.

Seafire and Brash grab some spirits from behind the bar, sit down to a table, and begin to drink. Angus, followed by Raven, approach the carved wooden door. After admitting to Angus that she can not read, he examines the door. The engravings seem to be representing champions, and for the last several years, the champion has been Bulk Vanderhuge. Raven then picks the lock to the door, and Angus opens it. Inside the new room is a wrestling ring, surrounded by bleachers. Raven immediately gets excited and starts bouncing around the ropes. Angus sits down and relaxes. From underneath the ring, a red-haired foxy lady emerges. She apprehensively tells Angus that her name is Bree Vanderhuge daugther and barmaid. She had been hiding from the goblin attack. Raven then attempts to wingman Angus in hopes that he can hit it off with Bree Vanderhuge. They all reenter the bar area, where she then offers to make us gazpacho (after telling Seafire and Brash that they must compensate for the 2 bottles of drink they took). Brash thinks her name is “cheese”.

Shortly after, a large intimidating man in a pink boa enters the room with drama. He has a brief confrontation with Angus, which ends in laughter and mutual respect. This man’s name is Bulk Vanderhuge, bar owner and wrestling champion. He tells them all to return to try their hand at Friday night wrestling. Brash pays 1 gold piece for room and food/booze. They all then eat, and Raven pockets extra bread.

Two guards enter the tavern, look around, and spot the group. After being told that they have been summoned by the mayor, all follow the two guards through the streets of Centervale. Bodies of dead goblins flank the streets. The citizens of Centervale are peasants. They look shaken and the town is in shambles. One of the escorting guards tells stories of rumors of goblins coming from the north near Crimson Hollow. Also, about 6 months ago, the magistrate sent about 20 of the town’s 30 guards off to somewhere else. Spotting a row of dead corpses, Raven makes the group stop and wait as she “pays her respects” and loots a dead body.

Town Hall is a 2 story old stone building. The main door is flanked by stained glass windows. The left depicts the seal of Valandran Empire, the right showing the seal of King Andrus Sterling IV. Going upstairs, the team enters the office of Mayor Richard Orbon; a 40ish year old human with brown hair and brown pointy beard. Relieved looking and grateful, the mayor makes a request of the team. He asks if they can go and kills the goblins that have been terrifying the town. He offers 15 gold for every head that we bring back.

The terms that our team agreed on are:
- 15 gold a head
- A party at our return, when the town has finished grieving
- Free room and board at “House of Pain”

We also received a gift of 4 potions of cure light wounds.

Agreeing to follow the trail of the goblin at day break, the adventurers return to the tavern and sleep. After a hearty breakfast, we leave Centervale following goblin wagon trails heading West. The path then turns North. Looking around, though it is fall, all the trees in this region have rust colored leaves, how unusual…. The trees get denser and denser and the hilly terrain makes us all travel at an incline.

Angus and Seafire hear a clanging from up ahead. Deciding that scouting ahead may be smart, Raven continues stealthy towards to noise on her own. She sees a goblin sitting in a tree throwing rocks at another goblin below. The goblin below has a goblin dog on a leash and seems to be guarding something. Returning to inform the rest of the group, they make a plan and sneakily re-approach the goblins.

Battle.

After the two goblins and the goblin dog are dead, a Worg (giant mystical wolf with glowy blue eyes) appears.

Battle. Brash murders the worg while prone.

Raven decides to skin the Warg. The team rests and recovers for 10 minutes.

A door in the hill opens and a goblin appears. We chase it into a tunnel system where we kill a sleeping guard and stumble into a large cavern room. In this cavern is a large center pillar with an altar underneath it. In what seems to be blood painted on the pillar is a symbol of manacles. On the altar was candles and two severed seemingly children hands and iron manacles. Angus detects a dangerous area of the room and Brash stops Raven from running right into it. Raven reveals that the symbols is the holy emblem of Hadregash, God of goblin supremecy, slavery, and territory.
